Samsung Glyde Phone Review

Phone review

Textual input on a traditional cell phone can be really annoying. Since most cell phones do not have their own keyboards, letters must be represented on a shared set of keys. For example, if you wanted to type the letter "C," you would have to press the "1" button three times. This is in contrast to being able to press just one key once.

Now, some companies try to circumvent this problem by providing portable keyboards. However, for someone that is always on the go, portable keyboards are just another thing they have to keep up with. That's why for many people, a better option would entail getting a cell phone that already has a keyboard implemented in its design.

Well, enter the Samsung Glyde Cell Phone. Created for Verizon Wireless, the Samsung Glyde Cell Phone features both a touch screen and a full Qwerty keyboard. To access the keyboard, all you have to do is slide it out from the bottom of the phone. From there, text can be entered in one key at a time.

So, as you can see, with the Samsung Glyde you are getting the convenience of a cell phone and a computer right in the palm of your hand. Best of all, you won't have to pay a crazy amount of money... assuming you get the right setup.

What does this mean? Well, currently, Verizon Wireless is offering the Samsung Glyde for only $199. However, to qualify for this price, you must do two things: 1) buy the phone from Verizon's website and 2) sign up for Verizon Wireless. If you buy the service and the phone from a different site or in person, you will have to pay $249.

Now, if you decide to buy the phone separately, you can expect to pay as much as $499. So, if you don't have that kind of cash on hand, you should probably go ahead and take the Verizon Wireless deal. You'll have to sign a 2-year contract, but you'll be saving $300 in the process. And for most people, $300 is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

Blackberry : Phone Review

Phone review

Information has surfaced regarding the delay of the highly anticipated BlackBerry Storm.

Many reps and engineers have been quietly confirming the delay of the device from a planned Friday November 14th simultaneous launch with Vodafone to a new date later in the month, with most reps suggesting a release on Black Friday, but a more realistic timeframe given by engineers is closer to the end of the month.

The delay is due to two factors: Carrier field testing and the fear that the device suffer the same type of delay cycle as the oft-delayed Bold due to the same strict carrier testing requirements that have led to delay cycles stretching as far as five months after planned launch date.

With Verizon positioning the Storm as its gambit against iPhone 3G, potential and current customers are waiting to experience RIM’s take on the touchscreen device concept and expecting an equal if not greater experience than the former.
